Stage Neck Inn York Maine Wedding | Lindsey and Owen

On September 9th, 2017, Lindsey and Owen were married at the Stage Neck Inn in York, Maine. They had their first look and ceremony on the lawn overlooking the ocean. They were lucky enough to have a very beautiful sunset that evening, which made for some amazing photos. Lindsey and Owen were announced into their reception where they shared their first dance. After the speeches and toasts, everyone enjoyed a lovely dinner. After dinner, the couple shared dances with their parents, they cut their wedding cake and Lindsey did a bouquet toss. The rest of the evening, Lindsey and Owen danced the night away surrounded by family and friends. It was truly the most perfect day anyone could hope for.

I asked Lindsey some questions about her special day:

How did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

We originally wanted to have a beautiful barn wedding but I also loved the ocean at the same time. I was down in York one day and I had just ran into Stage Neck Inn and fell in love immediately. I took Owen down there next chance we got and he felt the same way. I wanted a classic, elegant wedding with beautiful flowers and wanted the most beautiful backdrop by the ocean.

What was your color palette and your style vision?

Our color palette was teal, white/cream, and peach. Teal was centered around the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen's bow ties. We choose a lot of cream ribbons and peach flowers. We added a little bit of violet in my bouquet with berries and having a layer of blueberry in our cake too!

What is your favorite moment of your wedding day?

Owen's favorite moment was the first look we did by the ocean. It gave us a second to enjoy our day just the two of us. My favorite moment was walking down the aisle. I loved that Owen was standing there waiting. It was surreal to be surrounded by all these family and friends we have known for ever and having our best friends stand by us.

What song did you do your first dance to?

Thomas Rhett - Die A Happy Man

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc.

Flowers were from York Flower Shop, centerpieces were hurricane vases surrounded by a floral wreath of baby's breath, greens and berries. They had a little sand in the bottom with a white candle. The bridesmaid bouquets were made with baby's breath and peach David Austin roses.  My gown was from David’s Bridal. It was mermaid cut with a beautiful belt that was sewn in. It was the dress I just kept putting back on and I knew it was the one from the start. I had a lace veil from David’s Bridal as well. My wedding favors were from Maine Wedding Artist, aka Beth!  They were hand painted buoys to match our wedding colors. I had seen these in stores in Portland and online right after we got engaged and I knew I had to have these as our favors! Our cake was made by Cake Elizabeth, it was white to teal ombre frosting 4 tier alternating flavor of blueberry and Baileys cream with champagne cake throughout.

What advice would you give to couples who are currently planning their wedding?

Keep calm and plan on! Tackle the big picture things first, you don't want to be scrambling on anything super important super late in the game. Tough decisions will be made, don't be afraid to upset people, it's your day. Most importantly, enjoy the process and have fun with it.
